New Covenant School Names Dr. Ronnie Booth to Board of Trustees

ANDERSON, SC, (Feb. 26, 2026) — New Covenant School (NCS) is pleased to announce that Dr. Ronnie Booth has been appointed to its Board of Trustees.

Dr. Booth is President Emeritus of Tri-County Technical College, where he served as President from 2003 to 2019, leading the institution through significant growth and regional recognition for student success and workforce development. During his tenure, the college expanded its campuses and launched hallmark initiatives such as Bridge to Clemson and Michelin Manufacturing Scholars.

A native of Aiken, South Carolina, Dr. Booth holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership and Policies from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He has also received honorary doctorates from Clemson University and Piedmont University and has served on numerous civic and professional boards throughout the Upstate.

“I could not be more pleased with the addition of Ronnie Booth to our Board,” said New Covenant Head of School Chaston Hart. “He has quickly become both a friend and a trusted mentor, drawing on his many years of experience in educational leadership. Ronnie will play a vital role as we continue to seek the Lord's guidance in building the future of New Covenant School.”

“We are excited to have Ronnie join the New Covenant School Board,” added Chairman of the New Covenant Board of Trustees, Andy Rountree. “His expertise is a significant asset as we execute our strategic vision. Ronnie shares our deep commitment to this mission, and I look forward to working alongside him to serve our students today and secure the future for the next generation.”

Dr. Booth shared his appreciation for the classical model at NCS and the opportunity to serve.

“Both of our daughters attended Christian schools, one for all and the other for much of their K–12 education. Sara also taught art part-time at a Christian school. My heart has always supported Christian schools, but I have often been disappointed with the schools with which I have had a relationship. The classical model at New Covenant fits nicely with my vision of how Christian education should be offered. We have a wonderful opportunity to partner with parents to assist in raising their children to their full measure in Christ.”

Dr. Booth has served as a ruling elder in several PCA churches and currently serves on the Inspire Abilities Foundation Board in Anderson. He and his wife, Sara, have been married for more than 45 years and are the parents of two daughters and grandparents to two granddaughters.
