Welcome New Upper School Math Teacher Joseph Swanson

Joseph Swanson graduated from Grove City College in 2018 with degrees in mathematics and secondary education.  After marrying his wife, Grace, he moved to Clemson to enter a PhD program in mathematics.  Joseph completed his Master’s degree in 2020 and is currently finishing his research for his PhD.  He is entering his fourth year of teaching undergraduate courses at Clemson, and has previously taught Business Calculus, Business Statistics, and Calculus I. 

Joseph and Grace have one daughter, Jane Charlotte, who will turn one in August, and are expecting another baby in January.  The Swanson family attends Christ the Redeemer Church in Pendleton.  Joe is looking forward to teaching at New Covenant, and becoming a part of the NCS community after seeing his wife teach here for the past 4 years.  Outside of mathematics, Joe enjoys going for hikes, reading, and playing games.
