Welcome New Music Teacher Josh Consalvo

Our growing fine arts program is pleased to welcome Josh Consalvo as our first full-time music teacher. Beyond the classroom, Josh will be creating vision and developing campus and co-curricular activities and ministries as opportunities for our students to discover, develop, and exercise their gifts for the glory of God.

Josh grew up on Long Island, New York with his parents and two siblings before moving to Troutman, North Carolina in May of 2002. Josh began playing music at a young age, first picking up a saxophone in 4th grade. Josh grew up playing in the school band and singing in his church's adult choir before going to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Music. After completing his degree, Josh spent a year interning in Anderson, SC at Clayton King Ministries where he developed a love for ministry and met his wife, Jenny. Josh then spent six years in vocational ministry as a student pastor in addition to three years spent as a preschool music teacher.

Josh loves spending time with his wife and their two dogs, Belle and Pepper. Additionally, Josh has several loves and passions. First and foremost, Josh is a diehard New York Mets fan and spends most nights watching and rooting for the blue and orange. Josh also has a board game collection of over 100 games, is a superfan of the reality show Survivor, loves hosting trivia nights, leads worship at his church on Sunday, and plays in the local men's softball league. Josh is excited to bring his love for music and teaching to New Covenant. His prayer is that students develop the same love and passion for music and for worship through what goes on in the classroom.
