Service Highlight – Habitat For Humanity!

Our time to Serve Others In Love is getting closer! We are very excited for our Day of Service in the Anderson community THIS FRIDAY!
We have been highlighting our different service projects recently. Today we would like to highlight HABITAT FOR HUMANITY! For those that do not know, Habitat for Humanity of Anderson County is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities and hope. Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.
New Covenant School will be sending students from the Rountree, Bills, and Thames Houses that are 16 and older to work on home that is being built on the property of St. John’s Methodist Church here in Anderson. Our students will be doing a variety of construction tasks that will help this home be many steps closer to completion.
Thank you to all our sponsors for this great event! We have had over $20,000 in donations so far! If you would like to donate or ask someone else to sponsor, it is not too late!
All donations are tax deductible and no donation is too small!
We will be accepting contributions through December 20th, so there is still time!
Remember that 20% of all donations will go to our Science and Technology Fund!
Let us know if you have any questions!
