Our parents have embraced classical Christian education because they can see the difference. Our parents want their children to flourish in life, not just simply to get by. This is a gift you can give your child with a distinctly different type of education.
Classical Christian schools are designed to help parents obey Paul’s instruction in Ephesians, “And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” In the first century through to about the 19th, classical Christian education was the way Christian parents cultivated a Christian worldview in their children.
Worldview is powerful because it influences who we are in a deep way that is almost imperceptible to us– it’s woven into us from childhood.
Yet, if you listen to educators today, you’ll typically hear one common goal: “College and Career Readiness”. Most schools today are centered on this narrow goal and the means to it— “What will they know and what can they do?” What if students were asked to rise to a greater purpose? Parents at New Covenant School realize that their kids can rise to something greater, something deeper, if we dare to imagine it. We disciple students to love great art, great books, and to appreciate the Greatness of God. And when they come near graduation after a decade or more in a classical Christian school, people notice something. They notice our students are equipped for something more than going to college. They see that they are equipped to serve the Lord and conquer to culture around them in a winsome way as we ‘present our students complete in Christ.’
We invite you to come to our Open House to hear about the classical Christian difference. We look forward to seeing you there.
