Marie earned a degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University. While earning her degree, she was in the Auburn University Marching band where she met her husband Rob. Soon after getting married in 1996, Marie and Rob joined New Covenant Church. They are grateful to be the parents to Elliott(14), Ethan(12), and Emie(6).
Before having children, Marie taught first grade in a private Christian school in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. When her oldest was five, she decided to homeschool. As part of her homeschooling program, she has been a tutor in a local Classical Conversations community for the past six years. Teaching art has been one of her favorite parts of that community.
Marie gets restless if she is not creating something. She loves to keep busy making all kinds of art. Over the years she has taken writing, painting, and singing classes. She is the author of the children’s book, One Quarter NInja. She also writes, sings, and plays trumpet and guitar in the folk duo, Padenrich Station.
Marie believes God made all of us with the drive to create in some way or another. She is excited about helping the kids at New Covenant School find an appreciation for art and develop their desires to create.
