IMG_9031 - CopyNew Covenant School is excited to announce the hiring of Mrs. Amy Rexrode as our three day a week 3K teacher.

Mrs. Rexrode graduated from Winthrop University with a degree in Business Administration (major in Accounting), and from Virginia Tech with a Master’s in Business Administration (major in Human Resources).  She worked for several years as a Human Resource Manager and Corporate Recruiter before feeling led to become a stay-at-home wife and later was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom.  Mrs. Rexrode has always been a teacher at heart.  Even in business her preferred area was Training & Development, and throughout her life she has been teaching children either in Sunday School, VBS, AWANA or a variety of mission activities.  One of her favorite experiences was serving as a preschool teacher for underprivileged children at a local mission church.  She loved exposing them to the truths of God’s Word and welcomed the challenge of having to be very creative and engaging for this group of highly kinesthetic learners.

Amy and her husband, Mark, moved to Anderson in 2001.  She was privileged to be a part of the first Steering Team for the Anderson MOPS Group, serving as the MOPPETS Coordinator and later as a 3 year old MOPS teacher.  Before her children were born, she had the opportunity to serve as a Children’s Minister and a Women’s Ministry Team Leader.  She is passionate about studying God’s word and enjoys teaching ladies’ bible studies and serving as a conference/retreat speaker.

Mrs. Rexrode is the proud parent of two NCS students, Bethany (3rd) and Eden (K5). Both girls have been attending NCS since they were in 3K, so NCS feels like a part of their extended family.   Amy recently served as the head of the NCS Parent Prayer Team and is delighted to have the opportunity to serve the school in this new capacity.  She loves that New Covenant School is a place where not only academic learning happens, but seeds of faith are planted on a daily basis and she looks forward to ministering to preschoolers and their parents in the year ahead. Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Rexrode to the NCS family!

10505567_10154298898945054_3424640280902939185_neNew Covenant School is pleased to announce the hiring of Mrs. Hannah Bryant as our Preschool Aid.

Mrs. Bryant graduated from Anderson University in May of 2014 with a degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. Working with children has always been one of her greatest passions.

Hannah is from Columbia, SC and grew up in a family of eight as the oldest of six children! Aside from her years in the Anderson University Education department, she has spent a great deal of her time working with children both in and outside of the classroom.

Throughout her high school and college years, Mrs. Bryant spent summers working with children.  She served as a private and group swim instructor for over six years for children ranging anywhere from 5 to 16 years old. She also has been privileged to serve as a camp counselor over the past two summers at Camp Hope in Georgia for elementary and middle school girls. Over the past school year, she worked and served as a substitute teacher and after-school care provider at Westminster Christian Elementary School in Augusta, GA . One of her most humbling teaching experiences took place in New Orleans three summers ago. She was given the opportunity to tutor a deaf 13-year-old student. After assisting and watching this deaf child succeed, she learned just how rewarding working with children could be.

Mrs. Bryant was married in August of 2014 and moved back to Anderson this past March. She will truly be a blessing to our Preschool students and families!

JennyNew Covenant School is excited to announce that Mrs. Jenny Martin (pictured with her son Nik, a 2011 NCS graduate) will be joining the preschool staff as a K4 teacher.

Jenny Martin has been a Christian since she was a young girl and cherishes her relationship with the Lord above all else. Originally from Pennsylvania, she has lived all over the United States, abroad in the Virgin Islands, Cameroon, and Nigeria. She was raised by her father with the help of a West Indian woman from the island of St. Kitts and later a Christian Persian woman from Iran who would read and instruct from her Arabic Bible. For the past seven years, Jenny and her husband Tony, a New Covenant School Board Member, have lived in Anderson and are members of New Covenant Church; they have three adult sons and five grandchildren.

While raising her two young sons, Jenny majored in Family and Child Development, with a focus in Early Childhood Education at Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Virginia.  After college, she taught 2 year old and 4 year old students at a child development center; later, she was the head pre-kindergarten teacher at a Christian school for 4 year old children. At that school she played guitar and taught songs to a combined group of all pre-K and kindergarten classes.  After the birth of her third son, Nikolaos, Jenny chose to stay at home and homeschool him through 9th grade, at which time he enrolled at New Covenant School until his graduation in 2011.

Mrs. Martin has been a Cub Scout leader, Awana leader and Odyssey of the Mind coach for gifted students. She has worked for a newspaper doing page lay-out and designing ads and for the last fifteen years, she has done elder and hospice care. Currently, she is an office manager/administrative assistant for a financial services/insurance company.

Jenny enjoys reading and continued learning, people, travel, camping, canoeing, gardening, singing and playing instruments, cooking, decorating and homemaking.  She looks forward to serving the Lord by teaching at New Covenant Preschool and coming alongside parents, as they train up their children in the knowledge and admonition of the Lord. She is eager and excited to be back in the classroom! Please give her a hearty NCS welcome when you see her!
